Stephen Martin has been a Professor of Psychiatry for 28 years, with a wealth of international lecturing experience. His current interests are depression, schizophrenia and the neuropsychiatry of dementia. He ran the European Hospice Conference and maintains an interest in treating depression to improve compliance and health outcomes in cancer, diabetes, joint pain and heart disease.

Stephen has performed flute music professionally in England, Wales, Germany, Spain and Thailand. He played semi-professionally from age 14, broadcasted on the BBC, and holds the LTCL licentiate performance diploma. He was sabbatical Professor of Music at the University of Mahasarakham, and publishes on 18th-century flute music and art.

In his spare time he voluntarily runs an art history museum in Thailand to help children experience arts they could not otherwise.
